Another jacket on the way!

 

I have just got the good news that my grandson and his partner are having their first baby! It's early days yet so I have decided to make the lemon one.

I have already made my two granddaughters a green one each as green is their favourite colour.

I have found my bamboo circular needles using Patons 4 ply baby yarn. The blackberry stitch one is my favourite pattern...

When the girls find out the gender of their babies, I will make them a pink or blue one!

My new happy place!

 

This is a picture of my new happy place. It is here where I spend time with my husband Chris, watching TV with him, playing with my little white cat, Xena and creating my knitted and crocheted treasures.

You will notice the two mint green jackets I recently completed. As soon as spoons or energy permits, I will be hand washing them. I have a fibromyalgia flare and can't do them for the moment.

I could not find my bamboo circular needle for the main part of the jackets and I used my old steel one. It seems to have made the wool grey... 

I have started a lemon one and have purchased another bamboo circular needle to avoid the discolouration..

The wool is supposed to be machine washable, but I don't want to chance it. I will be washing them in Velvet soap and drying them flat inside away from the sun.

My life is a simple one and is mostly spent at home. If you like, click here for a look of our new home. It's my new happy place!

Soft Green Apple loveliness

I am excited to hear that another great-grandchild is on the way and as it is a first child for my granddaughter, she has no jackets as yet.

Her favourite colour is green, so as requested I have started a blackberry cardigan in Patons 4ply colour Soft Green Apple. The bands are knitted on size 3.25mm  needles and the main body and sleeves are knitted on 3.50mm needles.

She already has my shawl I crocheted for her so I will major on doing little cardigans.

My latest projects

I have just finished another baby blue shawl and half-way through this dusky rose one.

I am planning on giving the appropriate coloured shawl to my friend's daughter but it is too early to know which one to gift yet.

These were done in my favourite baby blanket pattern in 8ply acrylic yarn using a 3.5mm hook

Pretty in pink

 

I recently had a great-granddaughter and I made this blanket for her in various shades of pink. I crocheted this using the usual pattern with 8 ply acrylic wool with size 3.5 mm hook.

I am not over the moon with some yarns as they don't feel overly soft when finished. If you crochet, could you please tell me of other option in 8ply yarn that I can buy? thanks

Fresh mint for Jamie

 

I crocheted this lovely fresh mint green shawl for my adult grandson Jamie when he has his first child. Again it is my favourite baby shawl pattern in 8 ply yarn on a 3.5 hook.

Candy stripe sweetness

 

I call this little pink and white jacket my candy stripe jacket. It is done in fisherman's cable in 4 ply Patons wool.

It did  look cute on my little granddaughter, Tay.

Little boy blue.

 

I know this is a fuzzy picture but I love seeing clothes I made and this includes my favourite blackberry stitch jacket and booties.

It came with a matching beanie with pom pom but it was too warm to have it on Liam. He is now 23 years old pictured here with his great-grandmother.

This was knitted in Patons 4 ply baby wool in this lovely baby blue yarn. Happy memories..

My heart is full..

 

Yesterday another delivery came of yarn for my future baby cardigans. I can't tell you how happy a full box of yarn makes me.

I already am planning the next project before I finish the one I am doing. I guess you could call me a prolific crafter!

As most people who sew can attest, acquiring new materials for future projects can become an obsession..

I am guilty as charged... and I love it!
