My new happy place!
This is a picture of my new happy place. It is here where I spend time with my husband Chris, watching TV with him, playing with my little white cat, Xena and creating my knitted and crocheted treasures.
You will notice the two mint green jackets I recently completed. As soon as spoons or energy permits, I will be hand washing them. I have a fibromyalgia flare and can't do them for the moment.
I could not find my bamboo circular needle for the main part of the jackets and I used my old steel one. It seems to have made the wool grey...
I have started a lemon one and have purchased another bamboo circular needle to avoid the discolouration..
The wool is supposed to be machine washable, but I don't want to chance it. I will be washing them in Velvet soap and drying them flat inside away from the sun.
My life is a simple one and is mostly spent at home. If you like, click here for a look of our new home. It's my new happy place!

Another apple on the way!
This picture shows how my living room is today.. the wind is gently blowing my curtains as I sit knitting yet another Soft Apple baby jacket..
Another granddaughter is trying for a baby and she loves green too. In fact, I made a lovely Soft Apple green shawl for her already..
So I am extremely happy to be expecting more great-grandchildren. Especially with them being close. It will be like having twins.
In fact, I have decided to make two of each colour for the new mummies! I will post a pic when it's finished.

Another new design in my shawls
Currently, I am crocheting a shawl in blue, pink and white. I haven't done a multicoloured one in these colours before, so I thought it would be fun to do it..
I will probably make 2 of them because they are still gender neutral...
My joy is complete when my new wools are delivered...

Pretty in pink
I recently had a great-granddaughter and I made this blanket for her in various shades of pink. I crocheted this using the usual pattern with 8 ply acrylic wool with size 3.5 mm hook.
I am not over the moon with some yarns as they don't feel overly soft when finished. If you crochet, could you please tell me of other option in 8ply yarn that I can buy? thanks

For a handsome little boy!
This is the shawl and jacket I made for my friend's little grandson. He looks lovely and warm in them.
The jacket was my favourite knitted, blackberry stitch and the shawl was crocheted.

A ruffled shawl for Greg finished
I have just completed a mint and white shawl with ruffled edge for Greg's future babies. Again 8ply acrylic on a size 3.5mm hook.
Here is a picture of it in its real colours as I promised... the camera showed it up as a very bright green, but it is truly a lovely mint and white

Shawls for all
These four shawls were given to my adult grandchildren for their future babies.
These were all crocheted using my favourite baby blanket pattern in 8ply acrylic yarn on size 3.5mm hook.
I have kept them in gender neutral colours but the blue looking one is actually a mint green colour.
I still have some more to do. And I am hoping my hands allow me to keep going so that eventually there will be shawls for all..

A shawl for Dianne
This was a shawl I made for Dianne. It was before I found my favourite crochet pattern for shawls.
I used 4 ply baby wool using a 3mm hook. It was photographed over a chair but in reality it sat flat. The middle circular panels were done in double crochet and I shell stitched the rest... it actually looked better than in the photos.. It was about 3foot in diameter.

A shawl for Tay
In this shawl, I knitted the circular panels in blackberry stitch, and crocheted a long lacy border. A thin band of pink ribbon was inserted between the centre panels and border.
I made this in Patons 4 ply white baby yarn using a 3mm hook for the border.. It was a metre in diameter and very full...
Tay still has it in her treasure box...

To be continued..
Occasionally I run out of wool and so I often work on another project while I wait for my yarn to be delivered.
This was the case with my lemon and white cardigan for Jessica. Again, in Patons 4 ply baby wool in my favourite pattern, blackberry stitch. It looks great in two colours as well as solid...
In the picture is a white crochet shawl for her...
